Fruit analysis determines the concentrations of the major mineral components, recognized for their contribution to storage and marketability.     Fruit Maturity:
Starch in the apple converts to sugar during the maturation process.  This simple physiological phenomenon can be measured and monitored by using an iodine solution.  Cascade Analytical supplies this solution, as well as photos which have the hydrolysis pattern for many popular apple varieties. Our Fruit Maturity Data System helps growers, field-staff and quality control people track data in a convenient 5"X 8" binder.     Irrigation Water Analysis:
The analysis of the water used to irrigate crops helps to determine what nutrients are being added by the water.  This can potentially cut down on the amount of fertilizer needed.  Irrigation water quality analysis also gives the pesticide applicator information which can be used to optimize pesticide efficiency if the water is properly buffered.  Cascade Analytical's  report gives the water an overall quality ranking and lists its suitability for irrigation.

    Pesticide Analysis:
Cascade Analytical has been serving the agricultural community for over 20 years.  We are well acquainted with many of the currently used materials, as well as the historic pesticides for minor crops.  Residue on fruit can be analyzed for several specific pesticides or a full FDA Scan of 22 commonly used pesticides.  Post Harvest Chemicals such as Diphenylamine (DPA) or Thiabendazole (TBZ) can be analyzed in water for discharge limits or for low-levels on fruit.

Cascade Analytical also offers:

• EPA 8081 Chlorinated pesticide scan (in water, soil & food) 
• EPA 8141 Organo-Phosphorus pesticide scan (in water, soil & food)
• EPA 619 Triazine Herbicides (in soil)

Shikimic Acid Analysis - Glyphosate (Round-Up) causes shikimic acid to build up in plant tissue.  Our analysis can tell if Glyphosate has been used or drifted on to your crop.
